DISCLAIMER: This is actually my 2nd YouTuber I Like. This was supposed to be a web series, but due to my schedule. School is just around the corner. Making videos and editing videos is hard and tough. It takes 2-3 hours to me to make my script, to shoot my video, and to edit my video. If you want to see that 1st YouTuber I like. It is "YouTuber I Like... Ryan Higa"
You know it. Smosh. Technically they are 2 YouTubers, we have Anthony Padilla in the right side, and Ian Hecox, obviously in the left side. Now before I start. I'm not GAY or being GAY. I'm just really a fan of them and a fan of their videos.
We’re going to tell a brief of history about them. Because most people who just subscribed to them right now probably don’t know how they started or something like that.
Ian and Anthony are from Sacramento, California. Anthony created the website smosh.com in 2002. It was created as a social network for Anthony and Ian to chat with their friends. The name smosh was conceived when Padilla mistook a friend explaining a mosh pit, as a “smosh pit”.
It became an inside joke among their friends. In early 2003, Anthony created several flash movies on Newgrounds.com. Soon Anthony’s friend, Ian, joined him. Anthony and Ian first met in sixth grade science class. They became friends and quickly discovered their knack for comedy.
In 2005, when YouTube was created, few months later (in 2005)… Anthony and Ian creacted the YouTube channel SMOSH on November 19, 2005. Their first videos consist of lip syncing to theme songs such as Mortal Kombat, Power Rangers, Teenange Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pokemon. In November 2005, Smosh released one of their earliest breakthrough videos, Pokemon Theme Music Video. (Why? Because it’s Pokemon.) It followed the same style as their other earlier videos. The video went viral and became much more popular than any of their other videos. IT had 24.7 million views, becoming the most-viewed video on all of YouTube at that time. It held that title for about six months, but was removed by YouTube after the website received a copyright infringement notice from Shogakukan Productions Co., Ltd.
Over the course of the next few years, Smosh began to diversify. They started making short YouTube skits, such as their annual video series, Food Battle. Smosh continued to grow in popularity and became one of the most subscribed channels on YouTube up to now. Smosh’s first time as #1 most subscribed was in May of 2006. They were beat by Judsonlaipply only a month later. In April of 2007 after they beat lonelygirl15 to reclaim their spot, but then was beat by Fred in October 2008. Smosh then beat Ray William Johnson in January of 2013, but then was beaten by PewDiePie on August 15, 2013. Until now, PewDiePie is still the #1 most subscribed channel in YouTube.
Apparently, that wasn’t a brief story though. Anyway, how and why did I like them. First of all, they are funny, mostly when I am bored that’s the #1 channel that I am going to search because like I said they are funny, About 10-20 videos per week. And second, they make their own songs which is actually funny and amazing. Like the Ultimate Assassin’s Creed 3 Song. So far, that’s the best song I have ever listened from them.
Below here are the links of their channels. WARNING: Smosh have many channels. Please click them slowly. Naaah, just joking.
